Online Training Opportunity: ReDiscovery from Disability Resources at Texas A&M University

ReDiscovery Supports Individuals with Disability Recovering from Hurricane Harvey. It is a collaboration between the Center on Disability and Development at Texas A&M University and the Texas Center for Disability Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

 

Registration for the ReDiscovery online course is now open!

The purpose of the ReDiscovery online course is to provide training, technical assistance, and educational material supports on long-term recovery services and resources in Texas for individuals with disabilities and other functional needs and access needs affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The ReDiscovery Online course is offered by the Center on Disability and Development at Texas A&M University and the Texas Center on Disability Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

Earn a Certificate of Completion from Texas A&M University and the                 University of Texas

Course topics include:

  • integration and support of individuals with disability and other functional and access needs during long-term recovery
  • awareness of disability-related needs in disaster
  • resources and services available to people with disabilities and other functional and access needs post-disaster
  • available tools and resources on disability and disaster
  • implementation of developed tools into long-term planning and recovery activities by organizations
  • collaboration with community-based groups and disability-related organizations.
