Training Opportunity: ReDiscovery

Good Afternoon,

The Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is hosting ReDiscovery: Supporting Individuals with Disabilities Recovering from Hurricane Harvey on June 19, 2019 from 1:30pm-3:30pm.  The course will be held in Room 120B at Houston Transtar, 6922 Katy Road, Houston, 77024.

The purpose of ReDiscovery is to provide training, technical assistance, and educational materials on long-term recovery services and resources for individuals with disabilities and other functional and access needs affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Objectives of the in-person sessions are to:

  • increase awareness of long-term recovery needs of individuals with disabilities impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
  • increase awareness of and readiness to use recovery resources and tools to support Hurricane Harvey survivors and,
  • know actions for mitigation of and preparedness for future disasters.
